However, things turned around after a young girl sees a giant in the night. Today's movie recap is titled "the BFG", spoilers ahead.rnIt's midnight in the mega city of London, a time known as the witching hour "when people go missing" and a young girl name Sophie is making sure all doors and windows of an orphanage are locked. While other kids sleep, Sophie stays awake in her bed reading her favourite book. Suddenly, she hears a hush noise outside the window and follows the cat outside the hangover of the building. She sees a giant in the street and ran back inside, terrified. The giant knowing that Sophie has seen him, follows and grabs her along with her blanket through the window as he makes his way out of the city. He avoid being seen by putting out some intelligent tricks. With mighty leaps, he makes his way out into the clouds that appear to be another world altogether.rnHe gets to his home and hang Sophie to a stick as he begin to chop some vegetables for stew. Sophie is afraid and try to escape but the giant sees her. He tells Sophie that there is no way out. Sophie asked the giant where they are and he says they are in Giants country. Sophie pleads with the giant not to eat her but he laughs and says the fact that he's a giant does not make him a man-gobbling monster.rnHe says he only feels sorry for her parent who might be looking for her but Sophie tells him that she doesn't have a father as her parent both died when she was a baby and has been living in the orphanage before he snatched her. The giant felt it as he asks if she was happy in the orphanage. Sophie says No and narrate to him the too many rules she had to obey including the matron's incompetence. She ask if the other giants are as nice as him and he tells her not to think of it as they will eat her without thinking twice.rnSophie ask the giant why he had to take her and he says he did that so as to prevent her from scuttling around, telling the whole world she had seen a giant which will result in a giant hunt and him being locked in the zoo for humans to watch. Sophie tells him there's no need to be afraid as she is an untrustworthy child and no one listens to her. The giant still refuses and tells her that she is stuck with him for the rest of her life. Sophie sees a jar on the table with blue light in it and inquire to know what is inside. The giant says they are dreams. Sophie laughs and says dreams aren't actual things. She says she suffers from insomnia and doesn't dream muchly. The giant reads Sophie's book to her, who is surprise he could read. Seeing that Sophie has fallen asleep, the giant hurriedly went inside an inner chamber of his house where we see many jars like the one on the table. He brings one out and make some mixtures.rnSophie wakes up noticing the giant is far asleep, she tries to escape but is caught by one of the ferocious giant, "the blood buttler". Sophie screams and calls the friendly giant to rescue her but he turns his back and shuts the door because she disobey him.rnSophie wakes up the next day and realize it was a dream. Aware that the giant made the dream, she tells him that it was a scary experience. The giant tells her that he wanted to prove to her that dreams are real. Sophie notice that a drink on the table has its bubbles go downward instead of the normal way drinks bubble go upward and she ask the giant why it's so. The giant tells her it gives some feel of happiness and takes a gulp of this mysterious drink. A gas-like stuff pops out of him like a rocket which is some kind of fun to him. Not quite long, someone knocks at the door and it happens to be the blood buttler, "the giant Sophie saw in her dream". The ferocious being says he's hungry and smells around. Sophie hides inside the vegetable that is on the table. Unknowing to the friendly giant that Sophie is hiding inside the vegetable, he convinces the ferocious one to eat the vegetable. Just when he's about taking a bite, the giant sees Sophie's legs and grab blood buttler's hand reminding him how much he hates vegetables and prefers human meat. The giant takes the drink with him instead and leaves. Sophie crawls out, all messed up. The giant takes her in his hands to wash and dry her, after which he gives her some clothes to change. He sees Sophie put on a red jacket from the set of clothes and gives a sad look. Sophie asks if everything is alright but he tells her not to worry.rnThe giant gets ready for work and sophie asks him what he does and he says he catches dreams. He takes Sophie to a safe place where the other giants won't find her. Sophie sees the many dreams in jar and thinks it will be a nice adventure catching dreams. She begged the giant to allow her come along but he refuses. Sophie becomes so adamant for the giant to bear and says if he doesn't carry her along, she might get eaten by the ferocious giants and her blood will be in his hands. The giant takes Sophie with him and off to work they go.rnAs they make their way out, they pass through the other giants who are fast asleep and tries not to wake them up. Unluckily, the Giants catches them. Sophie hurriedly hide inside a broken vehicle. The ferocious giants bullied the friendly giant, making fun of him. Rain starts falling and the Giants runs and hide cause they hate water. The friendly giant quickly seize the opportunity, pick his things and hide Sophie in his bag then runs away. Just then, the ferocious giants notices Sophie's blanket on the ground and perceives the friendly giant has a human with him.rnSophie and the giant continues their journey and arrive at a place where the giant calls the dream country. Sophie admires the stars of the place because they are so bright and lovely. The giant tells Sophie that when everywhere is calm, with the aid of his hulking ears he could hear the stars singing. Including insects talking in the ground, plants talking to each other, secret whisperings of the world and footsteps of ladybugs as they walk. They get to a lake and as Sophie admire the reflection of a beautiful tree, the giant tells Sophie that someone once called him the big friendly giant. The giant jumps into the lake and ask Sophie to do same, which she did. Sophie and the giant stands in front of the beautiful tree of dreams and are left in awe. They noticed a golden dream and the giant says it is a rare one, and tries to catch it. The dream comes to Sophie and the giant tells her that the dream recognizes her. The giant put the dream in a jar and calls it Sophie's dream. As Sophie has fun catching dreams, she notice a red dream and the giant ask her to give it to him, saying it's a bad one, "a nightmare". Sophie inquire to know what he intends to do with the dream and the giant says he's going to lock it up. She also asks him what the dream says and the giant says the dream speaks about unforgiveness for the things Sophie has done. As they leave, sophie says henceforth she's going to call the giant "the BFG" " the big friendly giant".rnSophie and BFG arrives in the city of London where the BFG utilizes his enormous trumpet to blow blissful dreams towards individuals while they rest.
